This series of four posters was designed in July 2019 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing.

Cutting through the center line of the posters, a miniscule rocket guides the viewer’s eye from left to right, blazing a trail from the Earth across the starry expanse of space as it reaches toward its lunar destination.

No mention of the moon landing would be complete without Neil Armstrong’s iconic line: “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Used here, the line reinforces the sense of scale and peril in making this journey beyond the Earth’s relative safety.

The Earth’s mass looms large in this design, completely filling two full posters and bleeding onto the third, with much of the planet cropped off and only the faintest indication of curvature detectible in the distant horizon.
